Hello Internet Peoples! A very Happy St Patrick’s Day to you all- whether you’re celebrating or not, I hope you’re having the best day!
Being from Northern Ireland, I’m considered the “Irish” girl here in Compiègne, and so to mark the occasion, I wore my favourite green jumper (and a green scarf too!). It’s from American Apparel, and I got it when I was in Amsterdam a few months back. It’s very tight, slightly cropped, and I am obsessed with it. My students were very excited that I was being so authentically Irish by sporting the national colour!!
I took a cheeky wee selfie after one of my classes finished early, and I thought, why not share with you lovely people what I’m wearing on my face! Loads of you really liked my post on my new lipstick, so I thought I’d tell you what I like to team it with when I do wear “full” make up.
- MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation (NW15)
Once I had moisturised, I applied this all over my face with the Real Techniques buffing brush. It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve actually worn foundation- I’ve been sticking to powder and concealer for a while now- but I’ve been sick for the past week, so I needed a little more… somethin’ somethin’! Love the brush, not sure about the foundation yet.
2. MAC Mineralize Concealer (NW15)
Used this under the eyes and around the nose. I really like this concealer- the formula is great, and it has good coverage. However, it is expensive, and I think that I’ll maybe go back to my old faithful Rimmel when I need a new bottle!
3. MAC Prep and Prime Highlighter in Light Boost
I love this product! Used it underneath the eyes, down the nose and a little on my temples. Sometimes, I use this instead of my concealer, because it’s a better match for my skin tone, and then just powder over it. Really amazing and so easy to use!
4. MAC Studio Fix Powder
Another fabulous product- can be worn as foundation or used to lock in make up. And I’ve had it for quite a while, and barely made a dent in it! Applied it with a Barry M brush- recommend the powder, not the brush. It’s quite old, and the quality is not great- I have little hairs flying out everywhere!!
5. Eyebrows- Soap and Glory Archery pencil
I have sizeable brows as it is, so I don’t really feel the need to thicken them up any more- I use this sparingly to fill in any gaps, and slightly elongate the length of my brows. REALLY recommend this pencil (more like a crayon, really)- it’s not too dear, and it lasts for ages. Mine ran out today, and I could cry because Soap and Glory is SO HARD to find in France!
6. Kiko Eyeliner Pencil in Bronze
I much prefer using brown eyeliner- it makes my eyes more defined than not using eyeliner, but it’s not as harsh as black, and there’s not as much transfer. This is a great dupe for the Urban Decay pencils! I apply it to the top lash line only.
7. Benefit Roller Lash mascara
Love love love love love. That is all.
8. MAC Soft and Gentle Highlight
This is new to me, and I think it’s just the bees knees. It’s THE highlight, it’s everything you want from a highlighter. I apply this to my cheekbones, brow bone, and to be honest, just a general dusting everywhere because I love glitter!!!!
9. YSL Lipstick in Orange Imagine.
You can read my full review of the product here– safe to say I am in love.
And that’s it! That was my face today, and these are kind of my holy grail, standard everyday products. As I mentioned before, I haven’t really been wearing foundation recently, but I’m kind of in the market for a BB Cream, so please guys, if you have any recommendations, leave them in the comments!! What are your holy grail products? I would LOVE to know!
Thank you so much for reading, your support means the entire galaxy!
