Turning Amber Purple

on

Helllllooooooooo lovely Internet peoples!

Like every basic white girl, this post starts with that well-known, ominous quote:

“So, I did a thing…”

And that “thing” was dyeing my hair purple! Yay!

I have wanted to dye my hair a crazy colour for a looooong time now. But there was always a reason not to do it- it might clash with my red work shirt! What if I hated it? What if it didn’t suit me!? But as the saying goes, ‘if you never try, you’ll never know’. So once I stopped having to wear “Tour Guide Red” every day of my life, I decided to bite the bullet. YOLO and all that, you know. I was feeling bad ASS; quitting my job, dyeing my hair… what’s next, a pet rhino perhaps?!

I used the new Clairol Colour Crave semi-permanent dye in the shade Lavender. In the past, I had attempted to use the London Bleach Lavender shade, but it literally had no results. Nada. I dried my hair to find it was as blonde as ever! But I had faith in the Clairol one, and so with the help of my boyfriend, we purpleified my blonde tresses.

And I was SO happy with how it turned out!

I have heard some mixed reports about the results- I think having blonde highlights meant that the colour showed up really well; if you have dark hair, you MIGHT run into some problems getting it to show up.

I’ve since washed it once, and of COURSE, the colour has faded, but in a way I like? I’m so glad I just did it though- after years of deliberating, I got to liberating!

All in all, I LOVE being a purple wench- what colour should I go next? I’m thinking pink!

A bientot!

Amber xx
