I had the same, ratty old pair of sunglasses from Topshop for a while- they served me well while travelling around Budapest, Barcelona and Stockholm, but they were kind of falling apart. In fact, there were two main problems I could find with them:
- One of the legs kept falling off, and
- They didn’t really block out the sun too well!
It wasn’t until I tried on my boyfriend’s sunnies, and realised ‘Woah, I don’t have to squint when I wear these, how wonderful!’ That I realised perhaps it was time to try something new…
I’d been lusting over a pair of Ray-Bans for the LONGEST time, but £100+ for something that I’ll probably loose in twelve months? That was a lot of money, and I am a lot of poor. It wasn’t until I was scrolling through Instagram one night, and I noticed a friend wearing the most FABULOUS sunglasses EVER, that I discovered the brand Lines and Current, and fell in love with their collection.
You can read more about them here, but Lines and Current turns out to be a company closer to home- they’re a good ol’ Norn Irish brand, and who doesn’t love supporting local businesses?!
I decided to go for their Henning sunnies, which you can have a little peek at in the pictures below…
What I love is how simplistic the design is- some sunglasses just don’t look “right” with certain outfits, whereas these go really nicely with everything! They’re big, great at blocking out the light, and super comfortable. I love how chic and fabulous they are!
The legs are wooden, and have a little logo on the side. AND, they haven’t fallen off once, which is a big step up from my topshop pair!
For £25, I am impressed. Delivery was speedy, and there was an adorable note in the case!
Plus, they give 10% of their profits to charity, so by buying something from them, you’re donating some money to a good cause. What a stylish way to do something nice today!
They don’t just sell sunglasses, either. They have lots of beautiful pieces of jewellery, which I’ve had to pull myself away from several times- it’s all gorgeous.
Definitely check this brand out, lovely readers, as they are wonderful and deserve all the love! I’ve also seen recently that they are now selling on the MarketPlace on ASOS, how cool is that?!
