Homemade Pizza

Pizza is my bae. So much so, that I actually owned a jumper with that quote on it…

I’d always wanted to make my own pizza, but the very thought of making dough, proofing it and rolling it out and such made my wee brain exhausted. One night however, I just decided to go for it, and I am so glad I did. It resulted in happy deliciousness!

I used the Jamie Oliver recipe which I’ll leave here; it turned out so well! I did think it was a wee bit dry, but that’s probably because we rolled the dough out too thick. Next time, I’ll make it thinner!

It took me about an hour to make the dough- mixing it all together was fine, but the combining the wet and dry ingredients was… messy, to say the least. Let’s just say it’s a good job my daddy was not in the kitchen at the time- I’m still finding dough days later!!

With the help of Chris, glamorous assistant and boyf extraordinaire, making pizza made for a really cute date night activity. There’s nothing like bonding over multiple types of cheese!

Chris made the tomatoey sauce for the base, which is a top secret recipe! But we also added parmesan, mozzarella, and basil. Deeeeeeeelicious!

We pan fried the pizzas first, to crispify the base, and then they took about 8-10 minutes in the oven.

And then, they looked a little bit like this… *insert ye olde heart eyes emoji here*

Let me know if you guys have any other cute “date night with bae” suggestions!

A bientΓ΄t,
